Related to this, btw, is that the performance as far as displaying custom fields in the admin area appears to have taken a nose dive recently. Displaying custom fields where there are more than 100 values now takes a very long time -- several minutes in some cases. It used to be much faster. Not sure if its just the high server load (I've been getting 50,000+ requests/day lately) or if any of the recent changes might have caused a slowdown.
