Serendipity! As I might have mentioned, over at Becoming Conversant we're trying to write some docs on RSS generation in Conversant. Thanks, Duncan, for your pointers. All this recent experience by Don to get his RSS feed working is, I am sure, extremely helpful.
With that in mind, we could use some pointers:
Are everyone's RSS feeds still working? I know Brian Carnell relies on RSS a lot for the sidebars on his home page. Is anything broken anywhere else, other than Duncan's?
Assume you are a typical RSS newbie. Let's call you, oh, say, Mark, just to pull a name out of a hat. Say that Mark knows almost nothing about RSS and is interested in starting out using it. What places online provide a good introduction to RSS? Or, are there places that are not necessarily aimed at newbies, but give enough information to build a newbies document for Becoming Conversant? Who would you contact online for information about RSS? (The name that immediately comes to mind is Dave Winer, but I'm going to wait a bit on that one until I have some kind of understanding as to what just to ask him!)
Hopefully we can cobble something up that will get a newcomer all the way from "hey, RSS sounds cool" to a fully bionic website.
TIA for any help you can provide.
(Addendum: I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but Bradley Peters is very graciously assisting at BC now, and is buried in this RSS project. His help at the site is invaluable. Thanks, Bradley.)
