Enclosure Page

The Enclosure page type allows you serve binary content stored in a message attachment through any path in your site. Enclosures can already be served via the path "[msgNum]/enlosure/[enclosureName]", but sometimes it's important to serve a particular image or binary file from a specific path.

NOTES: It highly recommended that your name an enclosure page with the appropriate file extension for the type of file you wish to serve...ie, ".jpg" for JPEG image, ".doc" for Word document. When possible, the server will determine the binary's mimeType and serve it appropriately, but using the appropriate file extension will help allow the client's browser and internet settings to make determinations as well.

Creating a Enclosure Page

To create a new Enclosure Page, go to the structure editor of your site: /yourSite/admin/conversations/yourSite/structure, and select the folder in which you want to create the page.

Use the "Add new file" form to create the page.

Editing Enclosure Page Properties

The Enclosure page has two properties that determine what file will be serve at that path.

  • Message Number
The message number of the message which has the file attached.
  • Enclosure Name
The name of the enclosure to serve.
