Get ready to be excited, then! :-)
RPC stands for "Remote Procedure Call". Then, XML-RPC is a way to remotely control an application, XML being the format used to encode the data and commands to transfer. That allows to control Conversant in a number of ways from other programs that will talk directly to it. The first working example of this is RadioConversant, which allows to edit templates and post messages and weblog articles from UserLand Radio (that is editing them in an outline rather than in a web browser).
That's a beginning: As we'll add more XML-RPC interfaces to Conversant, more things will be possible to control. And as people will (hopefully) make other applications able to use XML-RPC, you'll have more and more choices on the interface to use to edit your Conversant sites.
How exciting is that? :-)
